As we look to justify poor natures cry for some mutual respect
we cant hear with the phone in our ear but our fears make it clear its true what some suspect
the ice is melting and the greenhouse gas is unnaturally high
sometimes the only way to reach a crowd is to tell them they might die
Lillies whisper to the trees,
look around our world is suffering from disease
but the bugs in the Bush say get down on your knees
and thank God for our health and our wealth there’s no disease, with a sneeze
Our meals are monochrome and chemically grown like chickens with no heads
we buy what they provide and what’s inside exciting packages
but Harry wont each Kix he just likes Trix that marketing might play
who needs food that is whole when some sugar in a bowl is a silly rabbits way to start the day
Lily loves her processed cheese
and every dinner is store bought in the deep freeze
and the clown and the crown pack lunch with MSG
and we wonder why we're fat and still hungry
He works hard in his box with his eyes on the clock anxious for the end
and when it comes there's no time to relax or unwind before another starts again
driving his SUV wound so tightly and gaining greater speed
he fights with his kids and his wife no time to question his life or what it really means to succeed
Mother hushes crying babes
while poor daddy pops a vein lets all behave
cause the cars and the boat left us with all those fees
and we all need new cell phones and mp3s
Lillies whisper to the trees
look around our world is suffering from disease
so we pray to our God that we may be released
from the stress and the mess of the 21st century
