Wane

The moon wakes up from a sleepy nap her eyes wide from the sun

She had 15 days to grow full now she'll wane to be the darkest one

High and confident and free a full luminous lady, but she'd still be jealous if she knew

not so far among these stars her next door neighbor mars has the pleasure of hosting two

It's her first time around and far from earths firm ground she'll make her first attempt to flee

out to asheville carolina where the folklore might be finer in her brothers world where there are three

As the driving turns to flying and the moon gives up her trying and the peddle hits the floor,

all this time out here in orbit has been nice and thats for sure but she still wonders what all this waxing is any good for.

when we all wane, wane.

As a young one when it snowed the moon above them glowed down upon their cozy hive

back in lovely quaint new england where the brick homes housed young women in a warm safe family of five

As they grow up every night reach to the moon for guiding light and listen close for hints of magic tricks

this waning moon she whispered soft so all her secrets they went lost to me before i reached the age of six

she said we all wane
