Snow Filled Buckets

It's still so early in October when the cold front wanders in

on the day when all the worries allowed the flurries to begin

nod and greet the mule deer spotted on the hills amidst the fog

and a fox creeps in the distance as this rabbit hops along

In Colorado in the foothills before all the colors fall

comes a frost in from the Rockies, mountains answer winters call

and I lie here wrapped up tight these woolen sweaters keep me warm at night

snow flakes drop in dreams to tell it all

There he floats about my bed from a screw thread through the ceiling

cast in plaster cloud projections on his back

and there's a slow accumulation in this bucket filled with feeling

bundle up as snow filled buckets start to crack.

Bundle up, you've been warned

bundle up, it's going to storm

and there's a slow accumulation in this bucket filled with feeling

bundle up as snow filled buckets start to crack.

Another fact of Colorado is that even once it snows

though an east coat girl would think to don't put away those summer clothes

It must be living in these parts that makes one feel this hot and cold

and prairie dogs so quick to change their mind and jump back down the hole

But still he floats about my bed from a screw thread through the ceiling

cast in plaster cloud projections on his back

And there's a slow accumulation in this bucket filled with feeling

Bundle up as snow filled buckets start to crack.
