Paul's Three Apostles
The boy leaves home at 18, 50,000 miles of hitchhiking just the open road and a thumb to catch a ride
times were great in 48 states, good friends, good girls he met the whole good world but then I ask him straight, what about the darker side
The first guy was out in Idaho with a hunting knife and a picture book to show all the deeds he'd done to his victims in the past
Paul took out his camping knife as he did his best to defend his life, held off the blades with mind games and then got off running fast
Paul said you never can tell who your teachers will be. I have to give God thanks for meeting all three.
The second one was up in New York State he took a turn off fast and then described insane all about his plans to do young Paul in
He had a pistol there upon his knee, he was speeding and laughing and hissing through his teeth, a pair of wild eyes and dirty rapers grin
Paul thought fast and then saw the brake in between the seats he didn't hesitate, pulled and spun them both to a tumble off the road
that old truckers dirty mind hit glass hard and Paul threw the keys and gun in the swamp and then left the scene without ever looking back
Paul said you never can tell who your teachers will be, I have to give God thanks for meeting all three.
Paul's third apostle was down in Texas when Paul had turned 24 and began to understand a man's weakening heart and the crazed and evil soul
The plan of sick intentions was soon described by the driver as he showed Paul the blade of his knife but Paul saw through his chest to his hearts enormous hole
Paul said friend please just think this through I see your hurt and your pain and I feel it too but there are other paths you don't have to go this way
After time the old trucker broke down and cried, handed his knife over to Paul and they both survived the crash of love in pain that turns them to the Devil's slaves
Paul said you never can tell who your teachers will be, I have to give God thanks for meeting all three.
