G r o w n   A w a y

We met there in the garden well after time for bed

To celebrate life and memories and time to go

The mood was up and we laughed and laughed and made a small snowman

And as we said goodnight you told me to always know

I am with you although you’ve grown away

My runaway bunny know that home’s only a thought away

And if life becomes a circus and you find yourself flying away

I’ll be the tightrope walker who meets you in the air halfway

Although you’ve grown away

My mother sends me cards she calls her angles

They’re small and bright and each says just a word

Today I found fun in my back pocket

A bit faded from washing but the message could be clearly heard

I am with you although you’ve grown away

My runaway bunny know that home’s only a thought away

And if life becomes a circus and you find yourself flying away

I’ll be the tightrope walker who meets you in the air halfway

I am with you although you’ve grown away

My runaway bunny know that home’s only a thought away

And as you sail through life on your own and far, far away

I’m in the wind to guide you and you can count on me always

Although you’ve grown away
