C.C. & The Swing Set formed in September of 2013 to provide live music for The Portland Swing Project’s Wednesday Night Stomp at Acoustic Artisans in Portland, Maine. Since it’s inception C.C & The Swing Set has gone on to perform around Southern Maine at weddings, private parties, dance halls, theaters, and city sponsored concerts, while coming back monthly to play at Acoustic Artisans for the dancers of The Portland Swing Project. The group’s core includes Caroline Cotter on ukulele, guitar and vocals, Tyler Lienhardt on fiddle and vocals, and Jed Bresette on standup bass and vocals.
This talented musical powerhouse plays songs from the prohibition era on, songs from around the world, and originals fit to swing. From Fats Waller to Whitney Houston, Porgy & Bess to The Jungle Book, Van Morrison to Yves Montand, Pink Martini to The Mamas and The Papas, they’ve got it covered. In 2014 C.C. & The Swing Set played for a sold out house at The Frontier Cafe in Brunswick, and shared the stage with The Soggy Po’ Boys at The Dance Hall, Kittery. At the start of 2015, the band traveled down to New Orleans to play at dances and on the streets of the French Quarter. C.C. & The Swing Set continues to play for the Portland Swing Project in Maine, and has since added members Don Whitney on Percussion and Pat Sutor on Clarinet.
They’ll make you want to dance! … or at least tap your foot and smile.
