Blizzards in the Fall

its a snowy day in boulder now you woke before the sun

called to talk to daddy just to see what he'd got done

find yourself asleep again in the middle of the call

so far from home but comfy here in the middle of it all

of it all oh blizzards in the fall

dusty drifts of white and shine rest heavy on the trees

weighing down the thoughts that came from all the things you'd seen

wash it clear you close your eyes and feel the cold flakes sting

reminders of your silly words that too much comfort brings

for us all oh blizzards in the fall

heavy droves of snow fall down and leave us here to freeze

berries bright keep shining through and hold close to their leaves

we try to snuggle up to where we know we might be safe

let the white come cover up the mess to be erased

by what we call oh blizzards in the fall
