Back home to the seasons
And I’m watching the leaves blow in the wind
And the snow all around is all freezing
But underneath I know that life will soon begin
Last night I flew from Bangkok
and the turbulence it gave us quite a shake
The man right next to me he didn’t speak that much you see
but during lunch I scored a trade of bread for cake
Back home to the seasons
And I’m watching the leaves blow in the wind
And the snow all around is all freezing
But underneath I know that life will soon begin
At 6am we left for Tokyo
and the woman to my left was counting sheep
While the guy to my right he had a messy flight
‘cause every time he tried to eat he’d fall asleep
Back home to the seasons
And I’m watching the leaves blow in the wind
And the snow all around is all freezing
But underneath I know that life will soon begin
Eleven hours to Chicago
and as we enter the US we do as we’re told
We strip and wait and separate lotions into bags and whatever else we have
but in the end the only bomb is that grumpy 2 year old
Finally I wait for Boston
and a 3 year old reminds me of what I love
Her little pot belly sticks right out she giggles she’s shy and then she shouts
that this is the last flight thank god above
Back home to the seasons
And I think of all the time I’ve been away
And when someone tells me that I’m brave for leaving
I wonder if I would be braver if I stayed
Back home to the seasons
When for 4 straight months there all I saw was sun
And when the D.A. asks me for my reasons
All that I can say is that its fun
